I agree, and I understand that U.N.C. likely would have played better if they didn't have injuries. I also understand and agree that they will probably be better when those players return in a week or two. I also would argue that they were at full strength earlier in the season when we beat them. As such, our win should be looked upon in a more favorable fashion than if we had just beat them yesterday. It would be a blessing if there were never any injured athletes in the game. Really, how wonderful it would be if every team could go full strength throughout the entire season, mono e mono! But that is simply not the situation. Unfortunately, injuries are part of it. That goes for LSU who is struggling through it right now, Kansas State as well, Tennessee, and many others. Knock on wood, UConn has had more than our fair share!!! Injuries for us have been so bad, that earlier this season UConn had played several games with Veterans being out due to injuries, that were carry-over injuries from last season! And we lost games while we were missing those veteran players. Yet, those losses are being held against the team right now! Even though these losses happened early in the season, our excuse, our argument that 'we are better now, because we are healthy'; that is fallen upon deaf ears, nobody is listening to that. We had our chance to beat ND and USC earlier, and we didn't get it done. We don't get those losses back. The Tar Heels most recent loss was just yesterday, and it occurred against the Cavaliers who are not a very good team. Worse, they had that loss, on their home court! That is a bad loss. They don't get it back. They do not get an asterisk next to it with explanations of injuries. What they get is credited with a bad loss, at home, in their final game of the regular season.
