Lunardi just updated his bracket. Still has Xavier IN. 2nd to last team in. Indiana last team. First 4 out...Boise St, North Carolina, Texas, Ohio State.

Palm's bracket (as of 11:23 this morning) had Xavier OUT. His last 4 in...West Virginia, Boise State, Indiana, San Diego State. First 4 out...Xavier, Texas, North Carolina, Wake Forest.

Decourcey (updated a few minutes ago) has West Virginia, San Diego State, Indiana and North Carolina as his last 4 in. First 4 out...Texas, Xavier, Ohio State, UC Irvine first 4 teams out.

After this Johnnies performance and Auburn losing yet again. I find it disrespectful that the Johnnies are not even being considered as a potential 1st seed. It's just wrong. Dominating the Big East like they have done should be an auto #1 seed. No ifs no buts.

Their resume is not even close to a 1 seed. The competition for a 1 seed are teams with double and in Auburn's case triple the number of Q1 wins

Auburn has stumbled a bit down the stretch, none the less they are 16-5 in Q1 games. St. Johns is 6-4 in Q1 games. Metrics wise, they really aren't close despite St. Johns having a better overall record.

As crazy as it sounds, after looking over the top 12 teams, it wouldn't even surprise me if St. Johns ends up as the (1st) 3rd seed.

He still has UConn as the 8 in the East. Wouldn’t be terrible to face a potential 2nd round game vs. Duke now.

I think I’d rather Duke than Florida, but I don’t know. It’s close. I think Flagg will be back.

Is VCU in even if they lose today? If yes, then George Mason could steal a bid by winning the A10. Would be kind of funny if George Mason gets in while Kim English just had one of the worst Providence seasons this century

UAB could also steal a bid with a win over Memphis today in the AAC

If no bid stealers, there are two spots for Indiana, Xavier, Texas, UNC, and Boise St.

No chance - their OOC resume is so bad it has no opportunity to leap anyone currently in the top 4 - like not close. The BE has 3 8/9 seeds and 5 teams on the back side that are mid major quality. This isn't a year where dominating the BE is a massive achievement. They're a firm 2 seed.

Not a bad take - Florida is REALLY good. And if you haven't listened to Golden, he is sharp and knows what he's doing. They're my favorite right now. I would take a partial Flagg/Duke coming out of the terrible ACC over Florida if I had my druthers right now.

A week ago, I didn't think there was actually a bubble to debate. I don't understand how Lunardi can put WVU ahead of Vandy. WVU is closer in resume to tOSU than it is Vandy, and tOSU is outside looking in. In a tossup of Xavier, Texas, Indiana and UNC, a case can be made both for and against all of them. And none of them truly deserve a spot. It would be difficult to leave Boise St out even if having four Mountain West teams in the field seems absurd.

I'd probably have Boise, Texas and Xavier as my last three in and ace WVU, Indiana and UNC.

And we're not done yet. I doubt UAB can beat Memphis, but George Mason does have a decent chance of downing VCU, and both would make the field.

The New Big East is not respected because it is a one trick pony league. The bottom half of the league consists of a bunch of mid-majors, and please don't give me Georgetown. They won a championship in 1984. It’s 2025. People complain about the ACC but this year is the NBE every year.

Back in the day, the Big East Championship meant something. It was the last one decided and the lead in to the selection show on CBS. Later it wasESPN’s Saturday night prime time game in New York. Now it has been relegated to a dinner hour lead in to women’s gymnastics on the lowest rated network for college basketball.

Do you think Palm realizes he still has Marquette as a 5 seed? I assume his rationale is their 3 BG10 wins back in Nov/Dec so maybe he's a genius, but everyone else has Marquette at 7 or 8

I think Xavier will get left out in a mediocre BE this year & nothing of note in non-conf.

@freescooter you really don't get tired of spewing your anti big eat bs every chance you get, do you?!

Crazy how you can dislike the BE Tourney being on FOX over-the-air TV nationwide on prime time slot...

measuring on the sold out crowds and high ticket prices it looks like the Big East Tournament still means something. Only tournament to sell out all its sessions

LOL. A one trick pony league thats had two different ponies win half of the last eight championships. Garden was absolutely electric last night for a great game.

If you can’t appreciate that , its on you.

If no bids are stolen today, I think it comes down to Boise St., Indiana and Xavier for the last 2 spots.

These 3 teams are about even with Indy having the worst record.

But do you reward the MW yet again with more teams than the Big East?

The MW flubs every year in the tournament. This is not a strong league, judging by tournament performance.

How can they be considered ahead of the BE when they never show it?

The bigger question to me. Is how can they reward the Big Ten with so many bids when they have nothing to show for the past decades?

Xavier should definitely be in. the other two should be sweating!
