AO, AD and DD had very poor games. JLamb had a poor game for him, above average for most players. NG was actually pretty solid, 10 points, six rebounds and at least he always hustled. Cinncy did make a bunch of long jumpers with a hand in the face, although about 40% were open looks. Offensively, as an individual player, SN was amazing.

TO was great for 7 minutes. RS played with energy and rebounded and blocked shots well for his minutes.

AD needs to at least try on his FTs. His two misses where he just chucked the ball at the hoop really hurt the team's momentum. I would be fine with him just shooting the ball like he would a jumper from the FT line

i think i have come to the conclusion that we don't have a 5 thats our best. alot of teams have that goto 5 that play most minutes together. we have several different lineups that are best for certain types of games/matchups but we don't have that "goto 5" becuase our talent/skills/development/depth doesn't translate to it. we have 7 guys that are not ready for anyone but more of matchup ready guys. bazz and lamb i would argue are ready for anyone. gif/scoe/dd are all young wings that will develope as time goes but i can't find enough from any of them that says-he should be a 30min guy vs no matter who we play. same can be said for ao/ad. i am almost to the point in ad's development that he is in the lamb/bazz camp but he just isn't polished enough yet for that. as much of a freak ath he is, he doesn't have the bball iq in the post at times it seems. ao was a 5 and he worked his but off this summer trying to become a 4. i give him all the credit i can for that, team guy. but he just isn't 100% at that point yet, so when him and ad are on the floor together its tough on the ball movement at times. most teams don't play 2 big guys like them at once so its a mismatch. the probelm is ao is still developing that to mid range shot(it has looked good at times but not always) and ad is still developing post moves.so them not being fully developed at both spots means its not a mismatch in our favor-hurts us. the boat show and the ncaa issue are killing us, killing his development. he alows us to go into a 3g lineup that all can score, it hurts us not being able to get that flow. i hope olander gets healthy soon. he is a great 4 in the making. he isn't the best on the boards but his hustle and midrage = minutes as far as im concerned. when we play a big team and he can't hand;e a 4, then ao/ad at the same time is fine. but when we play a game like 2night vs cincy, he would be extremely valueable.

vs teams with bigs-ao/ad can be on the court together and play well. like a cuse game.

vs teams with guards-we need a 1 big lineup and scoe/to at the 4. tonight with boat and oldaner not 100% that hurt us so we went big at times trying to gain minutes but we did our best with bazz/lamb/wing(gif)/wing(scoe/to)/big

thats my rant.

There is no free pass for Andre on this either............6 pts and 12 boards from our 2 bigs when Yancey Gates had ore points and the same amount of boards alone?? They should be ashamed!!! Giffey had as many, Lamb had more and Shabazz one less........granted many long rebounds and much guarding outside because of smaller opponents but c'mon......ridiculous to be outworked like that. Keep blocking shots though.....how's that working??

The AO + AD combo has looked good during some stretches but mostly the offense has been very ineffective when both are in. If TO had been healthy and able to play AO's minutes and vice versa, his 4 points in 7 minutes would become 13 points in 23 minutes and it might have equated to a win (hard to play games on theoreticals), but he is also much better at feeding AD in the post and better at passing out to the wings, so likely others would have had better performances as well (perhaps DLamb gets three extra open shots because of better ball movement etc.)
