Nice piece by Chip Malafronte on Mike Box in the Register:

Perhaps not quite talented enough for BCS competition but doing great things at IUP and maybe didn't get a fair shot to beat out Trick Shot back in 2011:

He entered preseason camp in dead heat with Johnny McEntee, Scott McCummings and Michael Nebrich. Box was the only quarterback of the four with game experience. Yet he failed to impress new coach Paul Pasqualoni. By camp’s end, he’d been cast to the bottom of the depth chart, where his main duty would be running the scout team.

“They weren’t giving me the opportunity,” Box said. “I really didn’t want to spend my last years and what time I had eligible if I wasn’t going to get a look.”

Box's game experience consisted of him almost getting killed against Louisville. Edsall should have gotten him out of there before he got hurt it was painful to watch.

Good to see he's playing.

I don't know what his numbers are currently, but I know I looked at his numbers for one season and they included like a 47%, completion percentage at the D2 Level. Those numbers to me to don't indicate we missed the boat.

Glad he is getting to enjoy his college football eligibility.
