BG is 9-3 and almost beat Dan Mullen's Miss State team, losing 21-20.

No Illinois rolled up on Ball State in the 4th quarter but the game was tied after 3 quarters. Completely different games and different elements and situations, but still interesting to see the teams play against a common opponent. And a good common opponent at that.

That was a great first half for BGSU. Great pocket protection, WIDE OPEN receivers, creative play calling, strong defensive stops.

That two minute drill at the end of the half was fantastic.

Very impressed with BG, have been all season really. They have the best defense in the conference which is coming in handy so far.

On a side note, can you imagine NIU playing OK State or Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl if they come back to win? Might give up 80 with that defense.

No Fiesta Bowl match between NIU and maybe OK State or....

It was such a no winner for the BCS team last year in the Orange Bowl...hard to sell tickets, hard to get viewers.

Although NIU was no worse in the bowl than Notre Dame was against Bama, there was much less game interest in the outcome.

Would it be fair to throw out the first year at Fordham (0-11, 0-8 in conf) and first year at Richmond (3-8, 0-6 in conf)? He inherited 2 pretty bad teams.

The BGSU fans look like they're having a good time. I guess if you've never tasted filet mignon, rib eye tastes really good. I wonder if our fan base will ever accept being 10-3 and enjoy the season in the AAC.

Why wouldn't the fan base enjoy that kind of season? I think the AAC has the potential to be a hell of a lot better football conference than the old BE.
