Bouknight gets some advice from MJ

Hearing that Jordan told him to non productive dribble less and pass more. They think James has passing skills but he needs to be less careless with the ball. Ultimately, they expect him to put together some winning minutes for the team in the time they are giving him. They are going to give him minutes and it’s up to James to be prepared and at least give them some “+”minutes for team and ultimately some wins.

If cutting down on aimless dribbling and making better decisions are the objectives, the fourth quarter of that game last night wasn't a good start. Change the uniform colors and it could have been Maryland or Creighton on the other side.

Saying it and playing it are two different things. It won’t be a light switch, although newspaper sports stories are written that way. If it happens, it will be a gradual process. He will be transitioning from his “handlers” to basketball people who played in “The League” and coaches, who will be more impress with better assist/turnover numbers than “The Showtime” talk. Two years from now, we will know if it happened. Hopefully, we see progress throughout this season, but it will be 2 steps forward and one step backwards. It also matters who is defending him. On the positive side, Chief heard the Hornets think the 29% 3pt % last season vs. the lights out NBA Combine 19 in a row is trending favorably.

Maybe a great blessing having been drafted by MJ. He will be educated on what 100% motivation means by someone who practiced what he preached every day. Hoping for the best for him. Golden opportunity.

As a Knicks fan, I hated Jordan the Bulls player. I respected the heck out of him, though.

It's a completely different story with his efforts to develop players in his post-Bulls roles. I hope for him to be successful, for nostalgia's sake and to help make the league more interesting. His style and results have been quite unimpressive, though.

Here's hoping he and Bouk build a relationship that bucks that trend.
