Box score from the gameThat was quite the UConn squad they went up against that year!
Right? Averaged double figures his junior-senior year in the glory days of the Big East.Danny is often overlooked as a college player because of his brother. He was very good in his own right. I believe some have said he was the better high school player of the two as well.
Doron with a little 10-7-6 peice. Could use some of that out of the PG spot right about now.
And Joe Mingle. Also, the attendance was 20,000, sell out. Those were good days. And that easy 31-7-6 for Ray I wonder if he’ll be any good in the league?
Lots of interesting names between Hurley, Griffin, Ray, Ricky, and even the legend John Cahill.
Btw: 37-30 at half, not a bad 1st half they got run outta the gym in 2H tho.
Half of which were prolly UCONN fans. Have finds memories of roadtripping to the Meadowlands, with an NYC pit stop. And Joe Mingle. Also, the attendance was 20,000, sell out. Those were good days.
35 field goals -- 25 dimes. 71% of our FG came off assists. That's just mind boggling.Box score from the game

I always enjoyed watching Kirk sky for a rebound. Very efficient scorer as well. Too bad the way his senior year ended in suspension.
Lived Kirk's game. Now that I think of it, I wonder if his record for most consecutive field goals (22) still stands.I always enjoyed watching Kirk sky for a rebound. Very efficient scorer as well. Too bad the way his senior year ended in suspension.

Yeah...whoever thought that must have been sniffing glue. As much as I hated Bobby and of course Laettner...and the entire Duke team, he was one of the top PG's out there.Like to find out who thought Danny was better than Bobby in HS.
Bobby was a McD's AA and a Top 10 recruit.
No one had Danny pegged anywhere near that level.
I think Klaiber holds the record for most misses to start a career.Lived Kirk's game. Now that I think of it, I wonder if his record for most consecutive field goals (22) still stands.
