Hopefully this one goes over better than the Daniel Hamilton article...

According to the contract Ollie signed in December, 2012, UConn can re-open his contract within five days of the last game of the season. From that point, there will be 30 days to complete an extension. If nothing is reached in that time frame, the current agreement will remain in place.

“This will get done quickly,” the source predicted.

And that likely means Ollie remaining at UConn.

so based on the window outlined in the last paragraph a deal needs to be reached by early next week, right?

I think it's from the time negotiations are re-opened, not necessarily 5 days after the last game of the season.

The way I read that they have 35 days from the NC game to get it done

Didn't we go through this a couple of years back? Feels a little deja-vu on this board.

Cutting to the chase: is it May 12, or May 17????
Dave Borges updated the story.

One thing to clarify, however: in an earlier version of the above linked story, I wrote that Ollie and UConn had about 35 days from the end of the season to iron out a new contract. That was the wording of the letter of agreement Ollie signed in December, 2012. However, that was not part of the official pact Ollie signed in October, 2013. So there is no actual timetable to the contract talks.
