Borges: All LOIs Received

Saw this in the New London Day article and thought it was interesting.

Hurley has secured three straight top 20 recruiting classes as UConn head coach, the first time that's happened for the men's program since 2008 through 2010.

Great news, great players, and all seem to be fine people. All the best to the three young men in their careers at UConn and the rest of their lives!

Who was our most recent decommit?
One of them (might be the most recent) was Makai Ashton Langford who played 2 seasons at Providence and is now at BC, or BCU as it is called. The year after that had several defections, but they were guys that Hurley was ok with losing, as he hadn't recruited them.

10 plus years ago was the last time we had three straight top 20 recruiting classes? Im sure the AAC had absolutely nothing to do with that...

I won’t say there isn’t a connection between this stat and the AAC, but the recruiting class rankings are very subjective and are heavily influenced by the sheer size of the class coming in

Not most recent, and not a decommitment per se, but the strangest and most memorable recruiting ordeal -- for all of the many parties involved, not just UConn -- so impactful that the kid's name got verbed over the ordeal: Kasongo!

There was something in the air that night, the stars so bright, Kasongo...

Like what Mad Dog might have said, "That's a good job right there."

6 foot 10 inches with a 7 foot 6 inch wingspan. Love that.

Looks closer to 7' to me recently. Definitely taller than any of our current bigs. Curious how TPS lists him this year. My guess is 6'11 215lbs.

Short mention of UConn in this article.

Who Can Rest Easy?

Another school that has to be thrilled is Connecticut. The Huskies aimed to add a point guard, a big man and a shot maker on the wing, and they did all three. Connecticut in fact landed high upside at each position and did so with a priority recruit as well.

For Danny Hurley and his staff to hit three for three on top targets at positions of need, has Connecticut thinking big as they look to compete in the Big East.
