Is this poll a snapshot of how teams are at the beginning of the season? Or how we think they'll round into form at the end of the season. There was a fair amount of debate on this at the Bench. I think polls reflect "now." Thanks for advising.

Preseason is how I think they will end up. Heck, we don't know what teams are like now.

Long about a month in my opinion will reflect more of how I think they are playing at the time. Near the end, I will think more about how they should be seeded than how they have played throughout the season. The conference tournaments will have a great effect on how I think of seeding teams. Preseason I think more about raw talent. Late season, I think more about coaching and chemistry.

NC State has too many questions right now, about who will be available early in the season. Aziaha James looks like she'll be out for several games to start the season...and both Zoe Brooks and Madison Hayes are likely out for the first couple. I have confidence that when everyone is available, the Wolfpack Women will be a top 20 team but I suspect the team may struggle to start the season. If we can stay within 30 of South Carolina on November 10th, it will be a moral victory.
