If the following unfolds in the coming weeks Boise State finally get their chance.
1. Boise finishes undefeated.
2. Georgia wins the SEC Championship.
3. Oklahoma beats Oklahoma St.
4. Oregon beats Stanford

#s 3 & 4 actually look pretty good. But I'd rather see LSU get beat and OKie State beat OKie and have a Boise State v Oklahoma State NC game. That would really depress all the TV honcho's. Sort of like a Kansas City Royals vs Pittsburg Pirates World Series. On second thought maybe they'd threaten some TV money and force an Ohio State vs Texas NC game instead.

The key is Georgia winning the SEC, if LSU wins out, ESPN will be lobbying hard for a rematch with one loss Alabama. They dread the idea of Boise State in the final.

zero, zip, nada. BSU is not of the caliber of the Top 5 teams. A loss to a Top 10 team will not impact the scoring enough to offset a big win over Wyoming, New Mexico or SDSU. There is NO way this BSU team gets to the final, none. LSU could lose to Arkansas, OU could beat OSU, Oregon could beat Stanford, and all that will do is set up the winner of those games to play Alabama.

I understand your fondness for hyperbole, but it's the two most popular teams that win enough games to qualify. Otherwise ND would get more opportunities they don't deserve, something we can all be thankful doesn't happen.

You can't be freakin serious. The entire regular season is basically a playoff. If popularity were part of the equation, why has Notre Dame never played in a BCSCG? I know you hate the system, but this is just a ludicrous commentary.

ETA: I know we all love March Madness, but IMO, college football does a much better job of putting the top 2 teams on the field together.
