Why are they making these lists prior to conference play?

LOL, how embarrassing. A press release with a malapropism (dominate instead of dominant) in the very first line.

Might as well have said, we at the Basketball Hall of Fame know as much about the English language as we do about point guards.

So I guess games played in Germany were excluded from consideration?

Keith Appling on the list. Bazz/Boatright nowhere to be found. That's not how it happened at Ramstein.

Can't understand how Shabazz doesn't make the list unless they didn't consider him a PG. Remember that Ryan was running the point to start the season but Shabazz has taken that over in the last few weeks.

Baz was on list of nominees posted on the Cousy website. It was definitely a snub. Wasnt based on his classification of position.

I don't think there is any way Napier or Boatright should win this award, but at least one of them should be listed in the top 20, IMO.

Just for fun:

Keith Appling:
  • 44%, 35%, 76%, 14.2 Pts, 3.4 Rbs, 4.4 Asts, 1.7 Steals, 2.4 TO's
Kendall Williams:
  • 41%, 35%, 82%, 14.6 Pts, 3.6 Rbs, 4.6 Asts, 1.3 Steals, 2.3 TO's
Lorenzo Brown:

  • 48%, 29%, 77%, 13.1 Pts, 4.1 Rbs, 6.7 Asts, 2.2 Steals, 3.3 TO's
Shabazz Napier:
  • 44%, 39%, 83%, 17.4 Pts, 4.5 Rbs, 4.0 Asts, 2.3 Steals, 1.6 TO's
Ryan Boatright:
  • 49%, 35%, 73%, 16.2 Pts, 2.8 Rbs, 4.5 Asts, 1.3 Steals, 2.4 TO's

Keith Appling Versus UConn
  • 7/17 (41%), 2/5, 1/1. 17 Pts, 3 Rbs, 4Asts, 1 Steals, 1 TO's
  • 8/16 (50%), 3/7, 6/6. 25 Pts, 0 Rbs, 2 Asts, 2 Steals, 0 TO's - SN
  • 6/12 (50%), 1/2, 0/0. 13 Pts, 4 Rbs, 4 Asts, 5 Steals, 2 TO's - RB

Kendall Williams Versus UConn
  • 4/12 (33%), 3/7, 4/4. 15 Pts, 5 Rbs, 5Asts, 2 Steals, 5 TO's
  • 9/16 (56%), 4/7, 1/2. 23 Pts, 5 Rbs, 4 Asts, 3 Steals, 0 TO's - SN
  • 4/7 (57%), 1/1, 3/3. 12 Pts, 2 Rbs, 3 Asts, 0 Steals, 2 TO's - RB
Lorenzo Brown Versus UConn
  • 7/15 (47%), 1/3, 1/2. 16 Pts, 3 Rbs, 5Asts, 2 Steals, 6 TO's
  • 6/14 (43%), 4/9, 3/5. 19 Pts, 2 Rbs, 3 Asts, 2 Steals, 1 TO's - SN
  • 8/20 (40%), 2/6, 0/0. 18 Pts, 6 Rbs, 4 Asts, 2 Steals, 1 TO's - RB

Overall, if you count Boatright as a PG, he is pretty close to Appling and Williams, IMO. Brown averages a lot more Assists and TO's.

Napier has the fewest assists and I could see listing him as SG, right now.

Head to head I think you can only really argue Brown having a better game than either Napier or Boatright and he did have 6 TO's.

Everything I have read stated that Lorenzo Brown was outplayed by Napier and from the looks of it, by Boatright too. TOs are a major factor in guard play. Appling was definitely outplayed by both. Kendall Williams? I don't think there are 5 guards in the country that are asked to do more for their teams then these two.

I really feel bad for them. Both should have made the list.

Andre Hollins from minnesota made the list? Averaging 13pts 3 assist and 2 rebounds???

Yet boat and bazz aren't on this list?

There are some people on this list that I can't even believe are ahead of Ryan and Shabazz. The poor kids are busting their asses with better statistics yet aren't even mentioned. Unbelievable.

I hate the slight but if it improves the chances they are back next season I'll take it.

Screw the Cousy, Napier should be mentioned for the Wooden.

Statsheet.com keeps a composite ranking of all players based on the numbers, its actually a really good proxy for the wooden candidates.

You can see it here.

Napier is the 4th highest ranked "Snub" on the list behind Taylor Smith of Stephen F. Auston, Mike Muscala of Bucknell and Durand Scott of Miami.

Otto Porter, Elias Harris, Seth Curry and Sean Kilpatrick rand out all WTF are they doing here team?

napiers increased his bulk #s aside from ast(which are steadily rising) while becoming a lot more efficient...seems reasonable to assume uconn being ineligible is the biggest reason hes left out
