He lost me as a Patriots fan when he hooked Goodell during Goodell's live interview during Spygate and he let him off the hook easily.
Costas: "But it's legal to film from elsewhere in the stadium and even from the stands."
Goodell: "But this wasn't in the stands, it was on the sideline, with a big camera."
Costas: "Um, yeah. Good point."

He’s even worse than that, he makes Howard Cosell look like Mel Allen. Cosell at least was a genius with some of his color commentary but as a play by play guy he was bad in football and basketball, in boxing his live action call was usually pretty good. Costas is several orders of magnitude worse.

Costas is kind of annoying now but he doesn't hold a candle to Doris Burke, holy hell is she annoying. I'm watching the Warriors v. Nuggets game the other night and she spent 5 minutes of action talking about Draymond's punch, you would've thought she was talking about 9/11 with the sheer terror she felt watching it. Later in the game unprompted she picks it back up again. She always talks way too much but this was next level.
