Boat Goes to Italy

I just think this is noteworthy as I'm pulling for the kid. Boat had 31 pts today as his team won 82-81. I watched the entire game until about 1:30 left when the game was tied and the video feed ended...grrr. Don't know if Boat hit a game winner or what.

Anywho, he was the best player on the floor, not even close. Got his shot off whenever he wanted, 7 for 11 from 2, 5 for 7 from 3. Scored everywhere from lay-up to deep three ball. Fun to watch.
Box score
Youtube replay game starts around the 34 minute mark.

Can we get these announcers? They sound great. I don't care if I don't know what they are saying.

"Over to the wing, he looks for a pass, goes up for a shot. Not an easy one. Welcome Ryan Boatright!"

Hahaha - nice guess!

Seriously? We don't have any native Italian speakers in on this board???

This is based on my untrained Italian from having spent 3 years in Rome 30 years ago...

molto molto mentalita si cosi si puo dire...
Very mental, if it can be said that way...
...veramente a prima parte per lui non e facile encuadrarlo cui...
...truly, to begin with, it is not easy for him to frame it [or maybe 'to corner him'] which...
...fai folletto.
do elf/leprechaun (boh!)
...se presente cosi.
...if any such thing. (?)
[RB makes the shot]
benvenuto boatright!
Welcome Boatright!
benvenuto! benvenuto!
Welcome! Welcome!

The announcer was probably talking about something else during the game leading up to the shot by Boatright. Anyway it definitely wasn't simple calling of the plays.

does anyone know his salary over there
I wish they were still on the Lira
I hope their paying him in Euro's the Dollar doesn't go far in Italy.
Maybe in Sicily it's better but Rome north the COL is worse than CT.

Foreign announcers are so superior to American ones its absurd. Have you heard the Germans or South Americans do NFL? It's awesome. English or Latin soccer announcers? Amazing.

How do you say "The ball looks deflated" in German or Portugese?

Pretty funny that boats mom and the team account go back an forth on twitter.

I don't know how our guys get selected, but it's frankly the result is woeful. Joe Buck? Twit. Troy Aikman? Door knob. Phil Simms? Probably has CTE. Mike Patrick? Worst. etc, etc, etc.

We have to cringe through broadcasts, while foreigners get to soar with the eagles. It's a national travesty.

The only announcers that come close in the US are hockey announcers. Hockey play by play when done right is just incredible. Listening to Doc Emrick lose his during a hockey game is pure joy.

A buddy of mine who played in Italy said he was given housing and a car in addition to his salary. Said that's how they do things in Europe for the most part.

I'd be shocked if Boat doesn't get another shot at the NBA. He has a heart and that will take him a long way.

$100 says Boatright either pays taxes to the Mafia or they pay part of his salary.

Just go around saying this: Ich bin ein arschloch. Perfect translation.
Du bist gut. Aber ich habt arschloch ist mannlich geglauben. Google sag "das."
