I thought the game actually turned when Drummond sat in the 1st half and Alex came in. Not starting seemed to have lit a fire in his belly or something, because he played with more verve and enthusiasm than we've seen from him this year. He was aggressive and forceful. Was good to see.

Even when Drummond picked it up in the 2nd half, Alex still played more like what we were expecting of him following last year's post season performance.

Sure was nice to see the guys smiling again.

Alex came off the bench against Gtown too, and there was no fire, just boneheaded plays and fouls.

Consistency is AO's issue. He played REALLY well today. This was the first game i saw him rebound like he did last year. He needs to bring that attitude every game and string some good games together.

I think not starting has lit the fire, but him playing at the 5 without drummond on the court is what really gets him going. I think Blaney notices this more than Calhoun and that's the reason it happened today

I've been screaming for this all season. Love Drummond, but we won't go far without Alex playing the 5 and playing well.

The problem with Drummond at the 4 is that if the other team has a mobile 4, he gets pulled away from the basket too much and his impact is limited. Not that he's a bad perimeter defender, but we need him protecting the rack. How many blocks did he have today? 7?

You are all getting to seduced on the idea that their are positions 4 & 5. There are just five players, and depending on who is on the court decides who does what. There is no difference having Alex at the 5 and Drum at the 4 or the other way around. The issue is whether the team is better with only one on the court at a time, and who is the better one if so.

Quick change of heart for someone that through in the towel on Wednesday.

It's called venting. He has enough of a history on these boards that for anyone to view his post in the same light as babysheep or any of those clowns is a mistake.

As for the OP, if I had to pick one player to step up and unite the team through Calhoun's absence it would be AO. I think this had a little bit to do with the passion we saw today.

Alex had a very nice energy game and he contributed to the win, but the team was at their best when RB was in the game and at the point. The way he attacked the basket breaking down his man and half the SH team reminded me of Kemba.

Put Drummond at the 4.

I could be wrong, but doesn't Drums normally play the 4 defensively with AO at the 5? It's been hard for AO to adapt to another big man playing center, but at the same time, didn't he split center with Okwandu last year anyway? Either way, I think he made a lot of progress after calling the team meeting the other day. His heart seemed in it today.
