- Predictably, we get it to Tarris for the 1st shot.
- Today though when the 2nd and 3rd possessions went in to Tarris, instead of scoring, he dropped a couple dimes for our 2nd and 3rd buckets.
- Next bucket was a gorgeous 3 from Mullins.
- But a few minutes in, we couldn't hit a bucket and developed turnover-itis.
- Luckily, that didn't last long, and Malachi came in and quickly ended the scoring drought.
- 7 pt lead at 10 minute mark
- Got ugly for a bit there with 6 or 7 minutes left in the half, but we righted the ship as halftime approached.
- 10 point lead at the half, off Demary's last split-second three.
- Back in December, it was a 3 pt lead at the half, and we won by 15. So what will today's 10 point half time lead evolve into?
- Alex opens the 2d half with a steal and draws the foul.
- Solo lays it in and draws the foul. 42-28
- Tarris makes it 44-28
- Getting a little sloppy. Lead down to 16 (48-32) @15:00.
- Is it me, or does it seems that DePaul is getting a freebie on virtually every drive to the basket mid 2nd half?
- Demary having a heck of a 2nd half.
- We (our reserves, mostly) let the 2nd half lead evaporate late, and we ended up winning by the same 10 points we led by at the half.
- Shooting percentage-wise, we owned the contest, but not by all that much... 50/40/84 to 47/31/71.
- As they often do, dimes, steals & blocks tell the story, as we went 16/12/5 in those columns, compared to DePaul's 12/7/2.
- I gotta be honest. I never thought I'd see Mullins leading in any column other than points scored. But he led us in rebounding with 7. He's turning out to be more than a shooter.
- I noted that our FT shooting seems much better the last couple games.
