Step in outside the arc square up and take the charge.
Drills can be practiced to work on both fundamentals.

Hard to coach crappy defenders quite honestly. Blow bys, thought this was the culmination of Larrier's year on D. I'm sure they drill them on moving their feet and as far as taking a charge, even JC's players for the most part weren't very good. It's an art and you have to be both smart and prepared, see the play evolving we haven't had those type of defense players other than Boat. It's actually almost hilarious the past few years with some of the attempts at taking a charge, Briam used to be falling side ways with his knees buckled. LOL

zero rim protectors....I think some of the coaching of our defense, especially in man defense is based on having rim protectors, which we have had for a majority of the past 15 years....but there is no fear in players driving the lane

I don't think we know basic M-M principles to begin with- B. Knight Ball You Man. This is taught in HS.
Mix in we are switching fr.M-M to Zone with no idea that winning a game ultimately comes down to STOPS inM-M.
