They play in Whalers jerseys because last I checked it was still among the top ten NHL jerseys and logos for merchandise sales. Outsells Carolina Hurricanes I’m sure.

When I moved to San Jose in 96 I met guys who were big hockey fans, played on roller blades. Two were huge Whalers fans, loved Kevin Dineen. They became big Sharks fans of course, but were amazed by my tales of living down the street from Marty Howe.

Ehh, at first I hated the idea but if anything it keeps the Whalers brand alive in the current NHL.

Really nice background of Tahoe for the game but game delayed till midnight due to poor ice conditions. I really wanted to see more of the afternoon gameplay
