I was listening to a Bill Simmons podcast with Jackie MacMullan and Russillo today about the NBA trade deadline and at the very end when I'm about to shut it down, they start talking about UConn women's basketball and end up talking about both programs history for about 20 minutes. It was interesting to listen to so thought worth passing along and just totally out of the blue, glad I caught it. Starts around the 51:00 mark

That was great, thanks for posting.

Excellent stuff. Love the stuff about Taurasi, and the bit about the men’s/women’s program relationship.

MacMullan is great.
Eh, she was just vamping about the current women's team. Didn't know know to pronounce Bueckers. But overall, lot's of kudos for both programs.

I agree that she didn't know how to pronounce Bueckers but she did work with Geno to write a book "Geno In Pursuit of Perfection" so more than vamping, IMO.

Not about this year's team. Notice how she skipped by the current team and started talking about Azzi Fudd? That's how a seasoned pro vamps. And that Geno book was decades ago.

I meant more in general, Jackie Mac is great to listen to. Always has interesting things to say imo

Both are great are their jobs ! I can care less if they are pro or against whatever I like. That’s why we have opinions. I can listen to them for hours and that’s why The Ringer is one of the best podcasts out there.

Is this the son of the old fat guy who was a writer on tv a lot years ago? Is he still alive?
