Kansas coach Bill Self was hospitalized Thursday after experiencing "some concerning symptoms" and had two stents inserted, the university said.

"The procedure went very well, and he is expected to make a full recovery," the school said in a statement. "He is in good spirits and expects to be released from the hospital soon."

Wishing him the best. Scary stuff but hopefully the more threatening part is now behind him.

Seems like he will be okay, but stinks because he's had similar issues before. Definitely praying for him.

Never ceases to amaze me how routine stents have become. He won't even miss a practice.
Also amazing how I wore big metal pieces cemented onto my teeth connected by wires (braces) in the late 80’s and my son is now on the verge of wearing… big metal pieces cemented onto his teeth connected by wires in 2025. No one’s figured out an alternative to braces in the last 40 years when solving for crooked teeth?

That is the dentist version. There are also at home versions that are dramatically less expensive.

If all your son needs is his teeth realigned, he can basically get the same thing at home for maybe $.12-$.15 on the dollar, but if he needs jaw realignment, then I think he'd better off going to a orthodontist.

I can handle the jaw realignment. Kidding…

Invisalign was my thought also since I don’t think his issues are that serious.

I'd get a quote from your ortho and then do a self assessment for him at one of the mail to home companies. It's a significant difference in cost for essentially the same process.

For what it's worth you can still do regular braces through your dentist and it's less expensive than Invisalign, but it just doesn't seem worth it to me.

My oldest had invisalign at 8 years old because her top jaw wasnt wide enough to accept a couple of teeth that were coming in. She had to wear them all day and night for 18 months. Worked really well and now her teeth fit into her mouth. It cost about $2000 and that included all of her visits and rework of the invisalign if one set didn't fit.

Biggest difference is now 8 year olds get braces instead of 14 year olds.

He’s 12 so a little ahead of schedule but a couple of his friends look like they could be playing linebacker for the Pats.

That's a great price.

What is seemingly most concerning is that this is a recurring problem

But I'm not a medical professional, and I'm sure he is in good hands

Already kind of felt like Bill might be aging out of the new NIL era and waning into retirement, wonder if this accelerates that notion. Always interesting to see what a coaching search will look like for a blue blood when there is no obvious alum to take the seat. Got to think a guy like Golden would be at top of list, although I believe he just signed a big contract.
