Seeing what everyone thinks are the biggest plays in UConn history(doesn't have to be shots). Two come to mind for me...

1. Without this play we don't win the Big East Title or go on the run to win the National Championship

Tate George's shot. Set our future in motion. Without that shot then the other 'withouts' don't happen.

UConn was hanging with the Big Boys!

Whatever happened to Jamal Coombs-McDaniel? Didn't hear a lot about him at Hofstra.

Jamal Coombs-McDaniel had knee problems and off the court issues while at Hofstra. He never actually played in a game for Hofstra. I wonder what he is doing now. He had eligibility left after leaving Hofstra, but I never saw him surface anywhere else.

Nadav's strip of... I forget who it was for Georgetown just after halftime of the 1990 BET semifinals. They thought they were going to come out and just pound the out of us in the 2nd half of that game, but Nadav was like "nope." Set the tone for the final 20 minuets, and 24 hours later we were Big East champions for the first time.

Trying to think outside the box here, but i would say Rashads 3 vs Duke in 2004 when we were down 8 with less than 3 minutes to play. If we had an empty possession there and Duke went back and scored, theres probably no chance we win that game.

1a – Ricky’s stop of Langdon on Duke’s second to last possession in 1999.

1b – Ricky’s stop of Langdon on Duke’s last possession in 1999.

Wasn't that Rash on the last possession? Ricky forced the travel when we were up 75-74.

After El-Amin's 2 FTs put us up 3, Ricky locked up Avery at the lane--so they had to inbound to Langdon, who was about as fast bringing the ball up as I am. Rash had Lumberin' Langdon most of the way, and was joined right at the end by Ricky. I'll never forget El-Amin pointing to the sky and sprinting down the court at the buzzer.

that was huge, as well as okafor basically fouling out dukes frontcourt and scoring on almost every possession down the stretch. i would add shabazz's 3 against villanova as honorable mention, just because was an initial glimpse of his deadly range and ballsiness

DeAndre's doulbe & strip of Payne with 2:05 left in last year's Elite 8 and the score 51-49. Payne had established deep, deep post position, and it just felt like MSU were going to finally get back to even (especially since Niels had missed a wide open three on our previous trip down the court.

DD slapped it out of Payne's hands and it went out off of MSU. They never got the ball in their hands with the chance to tie or take the lead for the rest of the game as Shabazz came down the court to swish a 16-footer with 1:30 left and then we iced it from the line.

That was THE play for us that game, and really made our season. Just getting to the Final Four for us, given all the turmoil of the previous 36 months, was monumental.

I wish DeAndre had come back for his senior year.

Rashad hitting the 3 against Washington in 2006 to force overtime was a moment of greatness.

RIP with the game winning fall away jumper in the lane in the NCAA tourney. Every team has their near miss in the tourney. We had Brimah's put-back and free throw against St. Joseph's last year in the opening round of the tourney and Kentucky had the Notre Dame game this year. I hope I'm wrong about Kentucky. Wisconsin or Duke. Anyone but Kentucky.
