After the Pac-12 tournament, this is the most intriguing of the major conference tourneys IMHO.

All games through the semifinals are on BTN. (Sunday's final will be on ESPN2.)

The annual Illinois-Wisconsin play-in game is on right now. Reminds me of the old ACC days when Florida State men was always in the play-in game. We used to call it the Leonard Hamilton Invitational.

Wisconsin wins 71-55. Advances to play #5 seed Rutgers tomorrow. The Badgers will try to repeat what they did last year -- upset a higher seed in the 2nd round (they lost in 2OT to Michigan in the quarterfinals).

Hard to say whether Illinois will be any better next year. They have a few good young players, including Big Ten all-Freshman Team member Kennedi Myles, but they also graduate a lot, including four-year starting PG Brandi Beasley and #3 scorer Ali Andrews. Their leading scorer, redshirt junior Petra Holesinska, is also graduating and participated in Senior Day, which suggests to me that she's not returning either.

Purdue defeats MSU 72-63 and will meet Maryland in the quarterfinal tomorrow afternoon.

Ha. It's funny. Down here they used to call that play in game, the Les Robinson invitational. State was atrocious back then

I see Wisconsin is giving Rutgers all they can handle. Up 4 in 3Q. Tsipis trying to make it two surprise QF runs in a row.

Wisconsin with their usual 4th quarter fade. Now down 11 in mid-4Q

I see that Purdue took out Michigan State earlier. That should wrap up the Boilermakers’ NCAA bid even though they’ll get killed by Maryland tomorrow.

Nebraska led Michigan at the half but big surge in 3rd quarter for the Wolverines, up 3 now.

A lot going on this week w/ conference tourneys, but Big 10 getting no love so far. Ohio St. rides a big 4th quarter to a 77-56 win over Minnesota.

Except for a couple of Terps fans the Big Ten is really underrepresented on this board.

Ohio State has quietly put together a very respectable season. Some inconsistency but they played a very tough schedule rated #2 in the country, and they have separated themselves a bit from that second tier of Big Ten teams. They could be looking at a 6 seed in the NCAAs. Tomorrow’s game vs Iowa will be interesting.

I do still follow Rutgers, and watched the tourney. But we watch delayed games, so I rarely am on when the games are happening. We watched (parts of) 13 games today, some complete, some at high speed, but at least a bit of all.

Sorry, my bad! I'm still wrapping my head around the fact that Rutgers is in the Big Ten. Maybe I'll get the wrapping done some day...

I wonder if the Rutgers and Maryland fans feel a little less identified with their new conference, and so they're not quite as "rah-rah our conference" as some of the other zealots on here.

Except for football, I'm pretty used to being a Big 10 member. I was really proud of the performance of the conference this season. First time I can really say that.

On a related note, the men basketball team fans really love the Big 10, especially the students. Very passionate. The women basketball team have a very small following on-line. On the IMS site, there have been only two posters since the Big 10 tournament started. I guess it may pick up over the weekend.

The B1G as a conference has had little to cheer about for so long, Ohio state seemed like the only one to make national noise with some peeps from the plains states occasionally. Getting MD and Rutgers immediately added some noise though Rutgers was already on a down turn from their BE glory days. It is nice that they appear to be on an upswing and maybe some more fan support will follow the on-court success.

MD up by 8 at the half. To be honest, that is closer than I expected.
Shot only 29% in the half. Took twice as many shots as Purdue. Very similar to the first Iowa game. Up by double digits now.

Maryland win 74-62. Mikesell and Jones had good games. Nobody else did.

Hopefully the Terrapins got their tournament yips out of the way in that game.

Important win for Indiana.

The committee seems to have made up its mind that they're giving Indiana the shaft, but their resume certainly deserves a top 16 spot as of now.

Patberg finished with 28 and 9.
Guirantes had 30.

I'm expecting Rutgers to be the 7 seed in Storrs this year.

Owusu didn’t play well? I saw the box score was 7-15 for 15 pts, 10 assists, 6 rebounds only 2 turnovers.

She was OK. She missed a ton of easy shots and the majority of her 10 assists went to Mikesell who had a great game.

We were already in AZ when they moved to the B1G. The thing is, when we were in NJ, we were able to attend lots of away games. A couple years we saw every game. Both of us had jobs with a bit of flexibility, and before her health difficulties, my wife was active in the fan club as well.

Since we left in 2011, we have seen RU live twice - a year or 2 after we left we attended a home game and we were at the WNIT final that RU won in El Paso, one of I think 11 RU fans there, the only tickets for RU fans were team comps, sitting right behind the bench. Very cool game. That was the year, I think that Rutgers was in the American.

Now also a full blooded U of A Wildcat fan. My wife's health limits our attendance, but we have tix and follow volleyball, softball, football as well as WBB.

So...Michigan threatening to knock off Northwestern, that could bump their seeding down a bit.
