I think both Kentucky and Michigan will be major players in recruiting. Both have good progressive coaches. Add them to Alabama as long as Oats is there. Then you have Kansas and Duke blue blood expectations and Kansas St and Arkansas $. Tough terrain to reign in 5 star(s)

UM has historically recruited well as one of the best college environments in the US, and a great brand. May will likely breath some credibility back into the program, so I agree with you on this one.

I honestly don’t think the gameplan is more than one 5 star year over year, which is all we need. Key will continue to be building a smart overall balanced roster, finding the 4 stars with the right character and upside potential. I can see more long term sustainability finding the right guys in the 25-80 range than landing multiple OADs year over year.

And continuing to have a top brand with transfers, where if the frosh don’t work out, being able to fix quickly in the portal.

I don't get the love for Dusty May. He had a great season 2 years ago and then underachieved last year with nearly the same team.

Didn't want to start a new thread for this but figured I would post this article on recruiting from the Courant. If you follow the recruiting on here then there's nothing new in here.

“UConn is second to no other program in college basketball. We don’t decide who we get, but no one should be off the board relative to whether they should be considering us. We do it, right now, as good as anybody,” Hurley said that day.

Alternate access:
UConn men’s basketball recruiting update: When will Dan Hurley and Co. land first 2025 commitment?

One tidbit from article is the staff was at Overtime elite recruiting on thursday. So the whispers that we've somehow moved on from Thomas seem untrue. I don't like how this has dragged on though, especially since his early flowery UConn quotes got my expectations up too much. It'll be interesting which big name commits where first, and if that causes domino effect of commitments.

None of those photos with Reibe in a UConn uniform?

Did we make the cut for Ament (I don't have an On3 subscription)?

An image in a Kentucky blurb shows Georgetown, Virginia, Notre Dame, Louisville, Kentucky, Kansas St, and Duke in a release from Jamie Shaw. Kentucky remains in hot pursuit of 5-star wing Nate Ament

Michigan, great University, bad basketball program. It will take time to recover from the JH disaster. Not a great destination for one and done recruits.

Not gonna lie. I’m starting to get worried. And I know I shouldn’t be.
Not worried about it. NIL is acting as an even better filtering tool for us. Actually didnt want any OADs. 50-15 would be great. The kids are being super distracted by all the money right now. Its going to be bad for whatever programs they go to. Chemistry. focus, etc. Hurley is going to have it properly sorted.

I’d be happy to get any player with a similar attitude as Stephon Castle or Cam Spencer whether they are projected to be OAD or a four year player. So yes chemistry, focus and attitude are critical in recruiting and the coaches are targeting potential OADs that they believe have those qualities, fill needs, and have expressed an interest in UConn.

Whether it pans out is uncertain. We’ll have answers soon enough.

I wouldn’t be shocked if Darius Adams is praying Thomas or Mullins doesn’t take his spot before his visit.
I tend to second this. Feels like our key targets are being courted all over the place, now UK is all over Acadian. Adams recruitment has been quiet, he wouldn’t be a bad consolation if the others fell through. He’ll need a year or two to just get stronger before he’s ready, which isn’t a bad thing.
