For continuity, I have expanded my P5 Coaches Salary and Win% to now include the Big East. As the BE is mostly private schools, I have not been able to gather all the salary information (yet!) so I will focus this thread on the Win% and success factors of our rivals.
The Big East WCBB Conference is #6 in Powerranking and esteem. There are now 11 teams in this conference.
From a coaching experience perspective, the 11 coaches average 16.4 years, 3rd among the P5, led of course by Geno and his 35 and Doug Bruno and his 34 years. From a win percentage, the group average 0.657, which is 5th, just behind the PAC12 at .658 but well ahead of the SEC (0.635). The average Wins by each coach is 315.6 and that is 4th, ahead of the ACC and SEC.
Upon first look:
All that said, this group needs to get better at recruiting and beefing up their OOC. With a 20 game schedule starting for league play, they need to minimize the cream puffs.
Here's the coaching table (updated for Butler and Crowley D3 record).

Upon first look:
- On the surface, we have Geno and Doug as the top 2,
- Jim Flanery at Creighton has had a nice career and is solid 3rd.
- New comer Meg Duffy did a great job this past year at Marquette in her first year and seems strong for next year as well and may well vie for #2 annually.
- Joe Tartamella at St John's has a 0.618 win% all at this school and shown he can be considered a solid foe.
- After this there is a mixed bag without consistent results
- Anthony Bozzella at Seton Hall and Jim Crowley at Providence, neither have a great win percentage (0.517 and 0.521) and seem to have good years followed by bad years with Crowley trending down.
- 3rd year coach James Howard at Georgetown has not made any ground and was 5-25 last year.
- Melanie Moore just completed her 1st year ever coaching at Xavier and was 3-27.
- Denise Dillon replaced Harry at Villanova. Dillon has 17 years experience at Drexel and has some talent at Villanova with which to work. Many on this board view her as a solid selection.
