This year's draft #'s by conference:

Breakdown by Conference through 3 rounds
SEC- 32
ACC- 12
PAC 12- 11
BIG 12- 8
BIG EAST- 8
BIG 10- 7

Yet the league still gets crapped on constantly. It has to be about something other than the level of play (I think I know what that is too).

Through 70 picks, #UConn has had three players drafted, Southern Cal and Texas two each ... Hmm.

The Big East certainly did challenge the B1G in strength of conference last season. It's scary to think the AAC may be somewhat decent. These numbers make the B1G seem as if it's headed in the MAC's direction.

SEC has more draft picks than the next three conferences combined - wow.

This can also be read as SEC, FSU, Oregon and everyone else. The difference between the BE and the big 4 (sorry ACC) has been depth.

This isn't new. Every year it's the same story, Big East players get drafted at a high clip and still get bashed as having no talent. Maybe it's good that our conference is getting a name change, maybe we'll finally be judged by the product on the field instead of the rantings of a few idiot ESPN reporters.

It is the job of the conference PR people to get this word to media. Obviously, that won't happen this year.

The trajedy is that it never happened in the history of the conference. The BE football conference had a great story to tell and the conference never pushed it.

And now we get to start anew so hopefully past mistakes will be learned from and not repeated. Aresco was in a bad situation, trying to sell a conference to the networks where most of the schools were leaving and no one knew for sure who was staying .....or joining. So the next 3 years will be about getting the football & basketball programs upgraded(find your weakest links and as a conference work together to improve), carving out some respect amongst the top 6 or 7 conferences(strategically acquiring out of conference games/series/holiday tournies), securing some bowl games(if the Pac12 & B1G can have the Rose Bowl why can't the AAC & MWC do similar at the Cowboys stadium?) and then working on a strategy for the next TV deal.

Since conferences are different sizes, picks per team: SEC 4.5, ACC 2.6, Big East 2.4, Pac-12 2.3, Big 12 2.2, Big Ten 1.8.
