Now that some MTE fields have been set, here are the number as of now:
P4 opponents by team:
Butler: 4
UConn: 6
Creighton: 1 + MTE
DePaul: 2-3
Georgetown: 2-3
Marquette: 5
Providence: 5
Seton Hall: 1 + MTE
St. John's: 3 + MTE
Villanova: 3
Xavier: 5
Right now (not including 8-team MTEs with matchups not announced) the league has a minimum of 37 matchups against the P4. Big props to Providence for stepping up to schedule 5 P4 opponents in addition to their yearly rivalry game with Rhode Island.
I still think that Villanova, Seton Hall, and Georgetown will each schedule at least one more P4 game.
Last year the league played 41 P4 games including the Big 12-Big East battle. Very promising that the league will actually schedule MORE P4 games this year without that challenge.
I think the final number this year will be between 42-46.
