I believe that is very important for the perception of the league for Seton Hall to make the field (and hopefully escape having to play in Dayton).
The Pirates sit currently at 15-6 (5-5).
In my opinion, they need to have 21 regular season wins to clinch a bid. 22 would clinch a spot in the 1st round.
Must wins: Marquette (H), Providence (H), DePaul (H), Georgetown (H)
Need to win two of the following: Xavier (A), Creighton (A), Villanova (A), Butler (A)
A win would be huge but not necessary: St. John's (H), UConn (A)
The other team to look out for is Butler. I believe their number is 20 wins due to more P4 wins in the non-conference.
They sit at 13-8 (4-6).
Must wins: Georgetown (H), Providence (A), Marquette (A), Georgetown (A), Xavier (H), Creighton (H), DePaul (A)
A win would be huge but not necessary: UConn (H), Seton Hall (H), Villanova (A)
Creighton is my opinion is finished. I believe their number is 19, but I think it is too steep a hill to climb for them.
If they lose four more games, they are done.
They still have to play UConn 2x, St. John's and Butler on the road, and Villanova and Seton Hall at home. I also don't trust they will go 4-0 in their other games.
St. John's and Nova would both have to significantly course correct in the wrong direction to fall back into the bubble picture.
Barring a bid thief outside of the top six teams, the league will have between three and five teams in the field.
