I don’t recall the thread, but there were people saying the big east gets disrespected every year when it comes to teams getting seeded and/or getting in. Xavier is 7-10 in conference play and 17-11 overall and they’re still safely in, that’s pretty wild. Big time show of strength for our conference this year.

They did just drop 10 spots in net to 35 though so we will see if they start to become a bubble team soon.

Let’s go huskies today! Take care of business and continue to solidify that 4 seed as the floor hopefully.

I think when all is said and done, BE will have 5 teams in the tourney with Xavier and Creighton out of the field. The complaints about disrespect will come when undeserving P5 teams like Michigan, Rutgers, Miami or Oklahoma find their way into the field. I believe the NET methodology is helping the non-P5 teams so let’s hope we see more of those in the field than a 9th team from the B10.

I think Creighton is in more trouble than Xavier.

As of Friday, Loony Lunardi has seven:

3 Nova
4 Providence
5 UConn
7 Marquette
8 Seton Hall
8 Xavier
10 Creighton

Creighton and Xavier didn't help themselves this weekend.

Xavier's KPI and Sagarin are still relatively strong, they're 5-8 in Q1, and their NET is better than their KenPom, so they should still be safely in at this point. But their margin for error is pretty much gone.

Creighton has only tough games left, so they can absorb some losses without impating portfolio much, but the question is how will the committee handle them if they lose 4 in a row heading into selection sunday right after a key injury?

I am assuming that Xavier loses at St John’s and beats Georgetown to end up 18-12 / 8-11. Then, loses its first BET game.

I am assuming that Creighton loses to us and Seton Hall to finish 19-11 / 11-8. Then, also loses its first game in the BET.

Creighton has to win something to get in. Without their point guard who played 34 minutes a game, they have to make some serious adjustments

X can't keep losing either. Neither is a lock right now. That meaning, neither can lose out

If we beat Creighton on the road, and that’s still an IF for me because they are a wounded tiger desperate. But if we do that would likely drop them to the 6 seed which would take away their chance for a good win in the opening and have us waiting again.

Both Creighton and Xavier are on the right side of the bubble as of now. Creighton needs one more win and Xavier needs two. I think they both find a way to get it done.
