There are 3 coaches who earned their 1st gig at their schools-Kim Mulkey after a long assistant career got the Baylor gig, Sherri Coale after a strong HS career garnered the OU gig and Jim Littell was promoted when the coach Kurt Budke was killed in a plane crash while recruiting (8 years ago-wow). I really liked the job that Raegan Pebley did this year and hope she continues that trend next season. By contrast, I am openly rooting against Marlene Stollings at Texas Tech due to her horrendous habit of scheduling horrible OOC opponents to “puff up” her W/L record. Add in her habit to throw her team under the bus after a loss and she’s my “dart board” photo…For as great a coaching career had prior to Kansas, Brandon Schneider has been a disaster at KU.
