Big 12 Glass Court Surface

Cool stuff, I would like to assume the floor has good properties (bounce, durability, grip) compared to wood if they are moving forward with it.

Meh would rather have championship banners in the rafters than a cartoon looking court. I guess if you have the money though….

Only a matter of time until someone hacks in and plays video games or P@rnhub videos on the court.

Whatever happens, we need to stop Oregon from obtaining this technology at all costs.
And Memphis

Seems like the inevitable precursor to just having AI players.

Dripping sweat onto plastic floor seems like knee and ankle injuries will spike

Seems like a distraction from the game. The technological version of the manning cast.
"Hey Eli, let's talk about chicken parm while a game winning pick six is going on in the game we are supposed to be analyzing. Oh look who popped in for a visit. Simone Biles and Jason Sudeikis!!!!"

Supposedly they’ve used these in Europe before and it works well. Still kind of tacky and dystopian to me.

We had a green synthetic floor in the old field house. Only remember the sound being different. Anyone could play there when the teams weren't using it.

Perhaps I'm in the minority here, but I read about this tech awhile ago and was never a fan. Personally, I watch basketball for the basketball being played, not for some flashy court. I feel like best case scenario, it distracts from the actual game being played. Worst case scenario is we eventually start getting slammed with real time ads across the court while the game is going on.

This is already doable. The overlay images on the court. Fox I think puts the shot clock at the FT line

Sure, but think about the Gen Z content consumer and new generations. Unfortunately that generation likes seeing new things, stimuli, unique forms of entertainment.

Yes our dorm intramural teams played on those courts.

Not sure why they would debut this floor during Big 12 tournaments. Seems risky to me.

Mashburn said last night that they use them in Europe and they're fine to play on.
