I was quite surprised (favorably) by her comments in this interview. She said that at UConn, "we were all trained" to make reads and play off each other. She thought that everyone else in the WNBA would know those things, and found that was not the case.
As some of you may recall, I have noted that immediately after her graduation from UConn, she seemed not at all enamored of Geno. She seemed not to care for his coaching style or his sense of humor. I suspect that she still may not think that his interpersonal manner with his players (or at least some of them, such as her) is to be admired, but she seems to have a greater appreciation of the technical basketball things that he and the other coaches taught to all their players.
I agree that is a juicy quote for potential recruits to consider, if they ever see it.
