These questions about the UCONN women through 2018 occurred to me during my morning walk, and I thought they could generate some interesting discussion.

Through NCAA National Finals,

1. which has been the best UCONN team on the court (performance)?
2. which has been or is the best UCONN team on paper (potential)?
3. which has been the most over-achieving UCONN team (performance in relation to potential)?

1. Lots of choices here. For starters: 2002, 2009, 2016.

2. Again a few options. 2001. This team had 6 once or future All-Americans Shea Ralph, Svetlana Abrosimova, Sue Bird, Swin Cash, Diana Taurasi, and Ashja Jones. Another choice is 1995, which had 3 eventual NPOY winners and a 4th who was a runner-up. 2013 also had 6 once or future All-Americans: Bria Hartley, Stef Dolson, Breanna Stewart, Morgan Tuck, Moriah Jefferson, and Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis.

3. Some will say 2003. Other people who are right will say 2017. Still other people with longer memories will say 1991 (they are right, too).
