Parking Suggestions? Just picked up tickets to tonight’s game ant XL and Nov 19th on campus, there were good deals on TickPick if anyone needs them.

Street parking is free on the weekends in Hartford. I don't usually use the lots around XL but last time I did I think it was 15.00?

For the XL, the lot I used for years closed for good. I don't know where I'm gonna go.

Never had too big an issue parking in the big lot across Church St from XL

I have a secret spot for Gampel I will never reveal
If you're talking about the lot across from the baseball stadium, that is no longer. There is a building going up there now. I think this is the lot the previous poster was referring to.

I've always been of the mindset that I'd rather walk a little further than deal with extra hassle or traffic.

I generally park somewhere down on the E.O Smith side for the games on campus, but there's been a lot of construction that's made that a bit more difficult the last couple years.

In Hartford, it's kind of the wild west. I've had a few parking garages (Temple St Garage being one) randomly lock up while my car was in it and had to wait outside for a while for them to figure it out. So I stopped using them and just try to find street parking now.

Happy to pay $15, I’d rather be in a lot than garage. Maybe I’ll try for a street several blocks away.

Pro-tip. If you're on campus almost every non-event parking spot is free after 5:00 pm on weekdays and ALL day on weekends. By free, I just mean that no one's checking parking stickers after that time. I usually park in that small lot behind North next to those basketball courts. Easy walk to Ted's/Gampel.

Nope... he's talking about Church Street/Ann Uccello St - the same corner as the back entrance to the XL.

Do they not let people out the side exit of that lot anymore? Been up there a couple times in the past few months and it's always closed. Used to be an easy out and to 84 out of that exit. Going out the main gate is a pain in the hole

Yes that’s how I’ve always gotten out onto Chapel. Not always fun/quick, but open

XL Center - Depends where you live. I need to get on I-84 East so I park in the Morgan Street lot at 1000 Main Street that is on the corner of Main Street and Talcott St. (https://www.lazparking.com/local/hartford-ct/morgan-st-lot). You can also get to Rt. 2 and I-91 South very easily from there. Not sure about I-84 West. It's only about a 5 minute walk but far enough away from XL Center not to be caught up in all the traffic and people walking out of the game.

Gampel - I refuse to park in the North Garage. Took me 30 minutes to get out of there once. I parked in Lot N the other day. Easy in and easy out (note: getting out they won't let you get back out to N. Eagleville Rd. to Rt. 195 so you need to take the back way on to Discovery Drive out to Rt. 44). About a 5 minute walk up the hill to Gampel. They charge $20, cash only. UConn Basketball Parking

It’s been much worse than 30 minutes lol. I spent 1 1/2 hrs in there on senior night against Houston in. 2020

That's 20 minutes longer than my impatient self can handle! At 9:00 and an hour + ride home I can't sit there for that long trying to get out of a garage. Got out of Lot N, which is exactly the same distance to Gampel, in 1 minute the other day because I parked close to the exit. Probably need to get there early to do that again but we were there early to see the banner reveal at 6:30.

Gampel: Although it can be a cold walk to Gampel in the winter, I find parking ($20) on the hill behind McMahon easy to get into and very easy to exit with a short distance to South Eagleville Road. Leaving, I continue on South Eagleville across 32, past the dam and eventually get to a blinking light and take a right onto Rt 31, which leads to 44.

XL. Thanks for heads up on 1000 Main Street parking. (On Laz's website, if it works for events, the parking is about $10.50 for 12 hours.)
Questions:
(i) is there an easy way to get there heading north on I-91 and
(ii) does it fill up quickly?

Thank you.

I also haven’t paid to park in North Garage in like 2 years. Am I risking a tow? Lmao

Never had an issue getting a space there.

In terms of getting there from I-91 North, Exit 32B (left hand exit) to Trumbull St. exit, left on Main and then left on to Talcott Street for the entrance to the parking lot (there is no entrance from Main Street even though the address is 1000 Main Street).

Hartford: We always park up at the Capitol Building. It's a bit of walk, but easy in and out and free.
