Aside from Hurley, who do you think are the best coaches in the Big East? I like Miller, Smart, McDermott and Holloway, probably in that order.

I was surprised that Ohio St passed on Miller this Spring. They should have hired him. He is a basketball genius. I have a huge appreciation for his knowledge of the game and I’ve become a big fan of his since he returned to Xavier. Some school will steal him away from Xavier before long.

No order. McDermott, Miller, Pitino then everyone else.

I think English has the chance to be very good before he inevitably leaves.

Maybe UConn. Brother is at URI

It depends on if you’re grading coaches by their whole careers or you’re weighing recency more. Pitino has at least as good of an overall career as Hurley. Although Pitino’s high rating has little to do with his single year at St. John’s. Nobody else in the Big East is even close to Hurley and Pitino.

I'm curious to see how much Pitino has left in the tank, particularly with the changing tide of college sports. Can he still connect with young players, as he did in the past? Last year seemed to be a struggle.

I'll take Smart, McDermott, English, and Pitino in that order. I think Smart will get over the hump soon in a big way.

Best thing about the BE is the quality of coaches, top to bottom. Not all are great, but few are terrible.

I expect Pitino to give us trouble this year. He has more talent than last and they were close games.

I am rooting for Depaul and whoever their new coach is! they need to be relevant, gosh.
