Xavier QB Tim Boyle Takes A Look At UConn

Marinan doesn't have any intelligence on what system new UConn offensive coordinator T.J. Weist will run, but he has an opinion: "It seems to me they might be going to more of a pass-oriented offense, and this is just an educated guess," Marinan said. "This guy is coming in from Cincinnati — and maybe I'm wrong about this — but it appeared Cincinnati threw it and sure was effective throwing it."

I think, in this case, it also has something to do with the new staff at BC. But it is good to see that hiring Weist is causing him to take a second look.

I just like that Coach P and his staff can get the top kids in the state to take a serious look at UConn and some have chosen that path. A school an hour or two away from home isn't going to be for every kid. Some just want to spread their wings and see what the rest of the world has to offer. But it's nice that they look at the Huskies as a serious option now.

I think Cincy runs an offense that gives the illusion of passing more but as I posted in another thread they threw like 371 times last year while running I think 492.

I found that interesting. I think in their case the pass set up the run quite well.

Wait til he's head coach!

You'd think Marinan was coaching Don Bosco as much as he yaps.

What were our run/pass numbers?

The guy is asked questions by a reporter, he answers them and its "yapping"?

When a high school coach has said as much as he has over the years about the coaches of the state university's program... yes he is yapping.

Maybe you've forgotten him steering players away from UConn. Maybe you want his approval. I'd prefer he stop acting like he is coaching De La Salle and cranking out a ton of D-1 stars.

You really want to do this to yourself?

I think he just wants to know what the percentages were on first down. This would have never problem if they put Nebrich in. Hrrmphf! Maybe this season he will get more playing time.

I haven't forgotten anything and its got nothing to do with what I want. And I'm familiar with DLS and Bosco. But this was one article on his player. He's asked questions and answers them. It's you who decide to tie it in with past events and classify it as yapping. What do you want the guy to do? "No comment"? I'm not defending anyone. it just seems you're just looking for something to complain about.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the guy was mostly critical of Edsall. And if he hasn't steered anyone to play in GDL's system can you blame him. It seemed like a fairly positive article. And I think the guy has earned the right to speak his mind to CT papers. He's been successful in the state and I doubt the Courant is heading to Ramsay to interview coach Toal anytime soon anyway.

Ummmm... He has a least one of his former players on the team.
