Kemba, a junior guard from the Bronx, New York, has guided the Huskies to the Final Four after the team was absent from most pre-season media polls. He led UConn to an improbable Big East Tournament title, winning five games in five days while earning MVP honors by setting the tournament scoring record - by 46 points. Named First-Team All-Big East, Kemba averages nearly 25 points per game and is one of only four players in the NCAA to average 20 points, five rebounds and four assists per game this season. He is a finalist for the Naismith Trophy and Wooden Award and selected first-team All-America by the AP and USBWA.

Process for the 2014 Bob Cousy Award

• List of 50 players that represent all of Division I will be released in late October - this list is compiled by a panel of national media members that make up the best 50 prospects for the upcoming seasons award
  
• The list of 50 will be cut down to a finalist pool of 20 players by early February
  
• The list of 20 finalists will be cut down to a finalist pool of 5 players by early March
  
• Hall of Fame appointed national selection committee will meet via conference call and then vote on the 2014 Bob Cousy Award winner by late March
  
• Press release announcing 2014 winner will be issued on Thursday of Final Four week
  
• Award will be presented during the Hall of Fame Class Announcement and Press Conference on Championship Monday at the Final Four
  
• As part of the award process, any player can play their way onto the Watch List and/or Finalist group based on progress/success during the season
  
• All Hall of Fame selection committee's are nationally based and represent media members, Hall of Famers, Coaches and key figures within college basketball.
