There's a way to stop it.

Someone from Uconn came out and said we only contact guys who are in the portal

We need to make exceptions. Any school who contacts any player of ours not in the portal, we need to immediately contact their best players.

This would make schools think twice. Right now we are an easy target with no repercussions

Desperate program using such tactics will never stop, even with laws/rules. I don't blame them for trying to be the first to poach a good bench player from us. Poaching starters are the issue for me.

You think naming a school, coach or handler will have consequences????
Lolz.
No, but an arrogant public comment insulting the dirty poaching coach/school by name would probably be cathartic (for me, anyway). The drama would certainly make the offseason more entertaining. And, I’m sure nobody holds back regarding Hurley and UConn.

No but it will out them as sleaze
Those within the industry already clearly know who is and who is not a sleaze.

When Dan Hurley mentioned on 60 Minutes about his players being contacted during the season he knew who they were that were breaking the rules.

Separating the NIL from the schools would fix it. I’m not naive enough to think that will happen but it should happen. Kids should absolutely be paid for their name, image, and likeness. But it should be through corporations and businesses doing business directly with the players and their agents, not the schools.

I think not naming them has proven to have consquences. This is not the first year for this, and Hurley has refused to name names. That's his choice, and if he thinks it's in the best interest of his program, I support his decision. However, there are consequences in whatever decision he makes.

The whole thing is dirty. But I'd be shocked if we didn't have our feelers out during the year as well. Honestly, we'd be stupid not to, IMO...

Think most people can figure it out. And probably know that there won’t be any consequences. Heck, Squid is still coaching and he put two schools on probation.

Technically speaking, NIL is separate from schools.
