If we can beat Purdue tomorrow, half of the teams we’ve played (3 of 6) would be from the Big 10. Wondering if a team has ever beat 3 teams from the same conference on the way to a title. Probably has happened but seems rare.

Syracuse beat Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas in consecutive games in 2003. Each was from the B-12.

The fact that two of those wins were outside the FF (with a third in the FF) would seem to be the more rare accomplishment. It feels like beating two teams from the same conference in the FF (coming from different regions) wouldn’t be that rare. We did it in both 2004 and 2014.

I choose to not believe that year ever happened.
I hear you but I view it as something else we can poke fun at them with. "Your school won one whole national title? That's cute!"

The first 2 played absolute garbage D. I was particularly surprised by how defensively bad the Illinois bigs were. Thought... of course Edey would kill those guys.

Kind of cool having Cam, Rutgers and Big Ten transfer, be a major part of this run.

Last year we beat St Mary's and Gonzaga with Joey C. So we can tell transfers "Come to UConn and get revenge on your former conference foes"

A UConn win will also mean 5 Championships since the B1G (the entire league) won their last one.......2000 for Michigan State.

If that happens, any reasonable league would invite UConn to join so they can get some credibility for their basketball......
