Regardless of what Missouri and the SEC do, it is apperent that the BE will lose at least one more and as amny as three more teams.

1) Missouri goes to SEC, and one or more of Louisville, WVU and Cincy go to B-12

2) Missouri stays in B-12 and the SEC goes to the ACC for #14. The ACC responds by going to the remaining BE to get back to 14.

3) SEC gets Missouri as #14 and decides to look east for 2 more teams to keep the divisions in tact.

#3 is obviously the best for UConn as there is no doubt where they will end up and the aren't competing with Rutgers or anyone else for the last spot in the ACC.

#2 is obviously good for UConn as it would seem that UConn is first in line to fill a spot in the ACC unless ND suddenly has a change of heart.

Unclear what happens to UConn in scenario #1. Probably depends on whether the B-12 goes back to 12 or stops at 10. Going to 12 would decimate the BE as at least 2 teams would go .

I still think that Rutgers and UConn will go in a package to either the ACC or the B1G, but will have to settle for a significantly smaller payout for an extended period of time.

I think the most likely is Missouri to SEC, Louisville, WVU and Cincinnati to Big 12. After that, who knows?

I disagree on #3. I do not think the SEC will go to 16 anytime soon. I also think that the ACC will not go to 16 until ND tells them that they will never, ever join the ACC. I am confident that we're preferred over Rutgers. Hoops secures it. So #2 is our best bet, and leaves the ACC the most intact and strong.

didn't it come out that Mizzou didn't have the votes to get into the SEC? not sure where i saw that, but it would leave me to believe expansion is over for now.

personally i don't think anyone jumping to 16 right now. all the conferences that are doing the hunting have just expanded and probably want to digest that and see where they are in a couple of years before adding more teams.

Someone reported that on the internet. But there is no confirmation of that at all. Just internet rumors.

I would have to think that Missouri learned their leasson last year with the B1G...I doubt they would have been as public about their interest in the SEC unless they had assurances that they were going to be accepted.

The SEC needs to take NC State.

Not going to happen. Why would NC St want to leave the ACC? The power of the ACC is in NC and they rule the conference. And even if they did want to leave, there is no way that they would be allowed to politically in NC. Not going to happen.

One can dream. But from an overall perspective, plucking NC State would be in the best interests of all. The SEC can develop probably help NC State's athletic programs by having them be the only SEC school in NC. Having 4 schools in NC for a conference like the ACC is ridiculous.

Bill Jones of CBS 11 in Dallas is reporting Missouri to SEC by the end of the day. This could trigger another mass stampede out of the BE. I can't imagine this is good for UCONN unless we are part of that stampede. Our hope is B12 will go to 14 with UL, WVU, Cincy, UCONN and RU. Our best hope is for SEC to take an ACC school like NC State.

A possible alternative with TCU going to the Big 12. They would then stand at 10 teams. Add the 6 remaining Big East football schools bring the total to 16, the first super conference. A good football and basketball conference with good markets.

This certainly would be ideal for everyone. However, with Bevo in charge I doubt they want to share or throw a lifeline to everyone else they screwed.
