The kid is simply incredible. Hard to believe he won't be first team all american with performances like today.

But then he takes a dumb 3 and it turns around and leads to another layup for Memphis. What is up with the defense today? Layup after layup or wide open 3's.

Love the guy but just forcing some bad 3's when not necessary.

Him and McDermott should be the only two unanimous first team AA guys but of course Bazz won't be first team at all.

Bazz was getting a lot of hate after the Cinci game and he did have one horrible settle but he took the the same types of shots today and the only difference is that he did what he usually does. Make them

If he keeps making about half of them, let him take all the "dumb" threes he wants.

Thrilled he got another chance to shine on National TV. He was trending on twitter and getting the love he deserves.

No shot by him is bad in my book, the way he plays.
You have to reach this peace if you want to truly appreciate Shabazz. He takes plenty of "bad" shots but more often than not they go in. What a special player. Might have to make a pilgrimage for senior night...

All season long, I've been hearing the words "ShaBAZZ!" when he hits a big bucket, spoken in the same voice as the 70s TV series "ShaZAM!"

Bazz is special. Hard to believe that just a handful of years removed from Kemba, he's making one special play after another like his predecessor. I wish his time at UConn would never end. I hope that Boatright returns and picks up where those two left off.

What hurt this game is he took about 4 heat check threes. Two went in. Two missed, and Memphis grabbed the rebound and made easy layups.

I didn't like the shots, but in retrospect, I think those shots were more damaging simply because Memphis is the fastest team we've played in a long time. Most teams can't take those misses and turn them into 2 points on the other end.

He is a special, special talent. Not clear why to me the draft sites are ignoring him, but NBA scouts are not. He will contribute to an NBA team from day 1 & teams that bypass him in the draft will regret it.

He does push the envelope from time to time (heat checks etc.) but when he is on like tonight, the team needs that from time to time. His sub-par games have been few and far between (Stanford, Cincy and IIRC SMU) and sometimes only a really bad half (see 1st Houston game) but have accounted for 4 out of 5 losses.

Not sure if it was planned, but getting Napier all the rest in the first half really paid off. He went out at around the 7:00 mark and didn't come back until 1:20. With the pace and intensity of that game, getting him a breather was huge.

And the game did not get away from us with him out. It was basically tied when he went out, and it was tied when he came back. We gotta use our depth.
