I know we already have a thread going about whether or not he was sick. However, this deserves it's own thread:

@DaveBorges: Shabazz said he had chicken wings from 7-11 for lunch, threw up after game. I kid you not.

This just shows how much of a warrior the kid is. He's tremendous and for him to do what he did today while being sick is just another major positive to him. Everyone cherish the rest of his games in a UConn uniform please!

He's a warrior for trying wings at a 7-11. In North Philly.
 
For someone who is known for making great decisions on AND off the court, his decision making at 7-11 could use some improving.

In my younger days (last year) I'd stop for one of their bacon egg and cheese on a roll sandwiches at least 3 times a week. I've dropped a solid 15 lbs since stopping doing that.
 
Good lord, chicken wings from 7-11?!?? If you're going to eat junk food get yourself a cheesesteak or a roast pork sammy.

Shout out to @uconngb who asked the question during the game. Vilified for noticing, and he had courage to ask or simply he has a big ass HD TV.

But Bazz is uconn through and through. Those are philly items. He is cognizant of mojo and hunts wings with the same fervor as hunting his 3 pointer during winning time. I applaud his dedication.

...becuase the NCAA doesn't give us enough money to eat at Buffalo Wings! :)
 
This actually raises an interesting question to me. Shabazz was talking about how kids on D1 scholarships don't have money to eat, etc. Obviously on campus he has his full ride, but how does that work when he's traveling to a game, etc.? Does the team all go out together with some stipend at a reasonably priced restaurant? Do they have to eat at whatever dining hall at Temple? Curious what sort of leeway they get.
 
Geno knows all the good places to eat in Philly! Why didn't KO tap this resource? Pretty nice game by our less than 100% guy. I thought the team had a pre game meal together as SOP.

They get a stipend, small amount of cash for meals on the road. Not sure how much now.

Subway is also a no go. Mcdonaldsis looking better and better. Gotta love 'merica.
 
As I was watching the game last, I yelled "Throw it up" a few times when I saw Brimah sneaking underneath waiting for the alley-oop. I did not mean for Bazz to take me literally.

I got roasted for my comment, but he just seemed off to me for most of the game. Thanks for having my back, but next time i will just keep my mouth shut.

Don't shut up. Get thicker skin. It happens to us all.

Hell you just gained 65 Hilton 'cred' units. Use them up before the season ends or they will expire.

I went to a tournament to see one of my kids in the a sports tournament, which unfortunately was in Cincinnati that year. At a BBQ place (Montgomery Inn) they had photos of Calhoun and Huskies dining. I formed the impression that road meals were often team affairs and nicely done. Maybe your snacks are on your own.

I googled it. Cronin's radio show is broadcast from the Montgomery Inn these days.

He did seemed to be sweating a lot more than anyone else.I thought he might have some flu symptoms. Could've been those extra spicy wings.
Sick or not his passing had the wow factor.
