Sure, she's had some years where her team didn't quite live up to seeding. But another sign that she's a better coach than some give her credit for is that even after she has graduated superstars, her teams in her "rebuilding" years have often done better than projected. The two years after Griner graduated, her team probably overachieved just slightly. I would also say that after she graduated a strong senior class last year, many people didn't think her team would be as dominant as they've proven to be.

If Mulkey's resume is an underachieving one, then 99.9% of coaches should be so fortunate as to underachieve as she has.
