I hate this matchup for us right now. On paper it spells trouble. Excellent frontline that can give our 5 spot big trouble. And a few guys with serious blow by potential on the perimeter If Karaban is out, even worse. I don't want to be that guy right now, I really don't. Lets hope a return home is just what the doctor ordered and getting back to basics is the order of the day. Spending Wednesday night watching a foul fest and chasing players on missed rotations after blow bys is not my idea of a good time. I don't even care about how Baylor can be exploited on defense. It doesn't matter one whit. Our real problems begin and end with how we can defend. I got no comfort from Saturday's blowout that anything has changed on that end, seemed to be treading water without Alex. When watching cupcake games I watch for translatable stuff on the offensive end. Meaning, "will that play work against anyone, or is this bucket a result of being matched against a quasi D2 team" - 90% of time Saturday was the latter. I would love to see Reed and Nowell start and Diarra and SJ back in familiar positions that they both have excelled at, but I don't think we will. Possibly Reed if either, but I think SJ will get another shot. I think eventually we will get to what I am proposing so I am of the mind that there is no time like the present to rip off the band-aid. A win here is desperately needed (obviously), if we start SJ and Diarra again and get a win it will go a bit toward healing some psychic wounds. A loss at home in this spot will be tough to swallow if it seems we are following the same game patterns. And it doesn't get any easier leading up to Xmas. Does anyone have an update on Karaban? this is an important one.
