Here's an alternative possibility to yours.  Perhaps Ball is compounding his bad play by overthinking and being upset about his poor play.  Which is typical with many of us.  In the AAU games of Ball and Ross I watched he was every bit as good a dog on defense as Ross.  Neither quit a defensive play even when the game was over and they were getting beat by a considerable amount.  Unless you know Ball has character issues and is a prima donna I don't buy your speculation.  Put me in the minority but I believe he will work things out.

Overlooked in this game is that he had two deflected passes and one tipped shot.  His reflexes to game play are getting better.  The one over the top thing I'm concerned about Ball is he seems to be following the DHam route of bad luck.  Remember how many games DHam's opposing player ending up making game winning shots even when he was playing great defense on that player.  Solo's tips went right to an opposing player and ended up being assists.  Maybe time for Dan to sage Ball.
