I was half expecting one of those banners to say "We made it into the NCAA tournament!" with the big 2013 thing at the bottom of course. Bria Hartley's interview on SNY today was telling (part of the all access preview) where she said if you win one [national championship] it's not a big deal at UConn.

Considering the expectations for that season, this strikes me as kind of memorializing the pain. Who could ever look at these without remembering what a blown opportunity that was.

Just for the heck of it, does anyone know how many banners would be hanging in Gampel if UConn posted similar season, tourney and NCAA banners?

Not my intent to be catty or evil. I really think it is sad and hope we never get to experience similar disappointment. The expectations and hype for UConn this year rivals that for Baylor last year... makes me nervous.
