Battle For Atlantis

FLORIDA will be much safer than The Bahamas.:eek::eek: And I agree - you know Dawn and Geno are going to make sure it's a safe environment. If it's not safe for fans they will have to make a sort of bubble for the teams.
Yikes. Florida is the third worst state in terms of safety. (Safest States 2021) I'm sure many folks aren't surprised.

I said Florida because that’s where a tournament was relocated because of hurricane damage to the island which could not be repaired in time to host the tournament. I’m sure there are venues up and down the east coast that would love to host this tournament, including the Mohegan Sun Hotel and Casino.

Serg, I like the way you think!!! I hear Vegas is lovely that time of year. At only 225 miles away, that is a trip I'd definitely make. ;)
I don't know how much things have changed, but in July, Vegas was the #1 metro area in the country for the transmission of the Covid virus.

I hear you Monte, but if they moved that tournament to Vegas, I’d be there sitting right next to Serge drinking a beer. :)

Is anyone else missing the Woman's basketball forum. I can pull everything up except for the WBB. I have to use the alert to get to a page.

My apologies, I thought you were saying that was the backup location. Hopefully they do choose a safer location like Mohegan! (I mean, CT is a shining star right now)

Some recent information out of the Bahamas is something of a mixed bag. The daily number of infections is slowing. But the positivity rate appears to be going up, now over 26%.

As far as players and staff are concerned it is fairly easy to create a safe playing environment - take over a hotel, play without fans, and transport by charter plane.

For fans ... much harder including the commercial air travel (something I haven't done in 18 months), transit through airports/customs/and to hotel as well as the hotel and arena environments.
