Living in the midwest for a long time ive met many who believe basketball was invented in Kansas. The casual kansas fan literally believes Naismith hung the peach baskets for the first time on a wall in Lawrence.
Got in a mild argument about it in a bar one time. I hate being the person who gets out the phone and starts fact checking, but i had to break out wikipedia and everything. They still didnt believe me after i read the facts.
