Ayla Brown sang the anthem. She is the daughter of former Ma. senator Scott Brown.
She was on American Idol...or one of those shows many years ago and made it to the finals before being voted off. I think she is now based in Memphis trying to break into the country music scene.

She was a very good high school player near Boston....UConn had some interest at one time. I got the sense that if Geno had offered her she would have jumped at it. I saw her play several times in high school...very slender...outside and inside game....pretty good skills and athleticism. Though slender she was very willing to mix it up inside....some sharp elbows along the way....about 6'. I think she would have been a nice complementary player off the bench at UConn....kind of a 3.

She went to BC and was a solid contributor. The AD fired the coach....the gal from Ct.. the team went downhill [and has stayed there]...and Ayla's effectiveness was hurt by the new coach and her system.

During the year the Celtics won the championship [maybe 2007?] she often would sing the anthem before their games and I heard they considered her a good luck charm. They won the ring in game 6....they had scheduled her for game 7 if need be. I heard she would occasionally do some shooting early on game days....one Ray Allen would give her some shooting tips....pretty good instructor.

Red Sox home opener is today....maybe she does the anthem at Fenway today?
