OT: band you've never posted before

Most of the bands I listen to I've posted in one or the other music threads over the years. But I think I found one (newer, newer to me anyway) that I haven't.

Song about his family....I think.

'94 - Hunter Root

Well, I can’t post the Shaggs or Wild Man Fisher because I’d have to bust myself. The next best/worst could be Daniel Johnston, a SoCal guy who self-released a bunch of cassettes that drew a lot of attention from musicians and almost none from the public. I discovered him when Tom Waits recorded this song.

The guitar in sledog's post brought Danny Gatton to mind. He was a great guitarist, taken from us at the age of 49. He did a lot of country and rockabilly, but was equally adept at rock and jazz. He did a great guitar version of the Simpsons theme, but this is some club footage from a few years before he died.

Things are leaning a bit guitar-centric so I think this will be ok.
I am not qualified to judge anyone's musical skills, I just know what appeals to me. I like melodic over fretboard gymnastics.
Just personal taste.
Andy Wood - Shoot The Sun Down
From what I can gather, Mr Wood teaches as well as plays. Whenever I've seen him interviewed he seems very humble and down to earth.

Or, if you must have your electronics, here's Richard Greene. Greene is a fascinating player, started classical, quickly dumped that and became the fiddler in Bill Monroe's famous bluegrass band. During that time, he invented a couple of techniques, especially the chop (a little thrown in at the 1:46 mark), to save his shoulder from the 4 hour marathon concerts and repetitive rhythmic role he had between solos. After that, he played with this rock band for a bit (wait for the wah pedal at the 2:40 mark)) and then did a bunch of eclectic jazz and old time/bluegrass solo projects with classical elements thrown in. Still sort of a spiritual fiddle guru, though now retired.
