I say we put Castle in the top corner.

Go rewatch the 2nd Florida game. Golden deployed his personnel aggressively to the perimeter and forced Alabama to become a midrange and paint team. Needless to say, Alabama was uncomfortable and got blown out.
We run guys off the 3 point line and funnel them into the paint. And we have the size to make their conventionally-sized guards uncomfortable.

Good luck to them if they straight up won’t take a mid range shot.

The layups just aren’t happening.

3 point shooting is the great equalizer and that's what Bama does best. They average 11 makes on 30 tries per game (37%) and they are 17-2 on the season when they hit that average. the 2 losses were to clemson earlier this year and purdue.

in the purdue game they shot 19/46(!) in a 92-86 loss, but I dont wanna have to score 90 points to beat them, especially if our 3s still arent falling.

Gotta Run them off the 3-pt line and funnel them into Clingan. Gonna need another monster defensive game from him, which I’m confident he will deliver so long as he stays outta foul trouble.

Yeah, this is going to be a as close to a bye game as you can get in the Final Four.
I mean, I wouldn't go that far, but they are fairly similar, profile-wise, to the team we just beat, and without the same size issues.

They are a bit higher-variance though in the sense that they shoot a ton of 3s and are capable of making the ~15 3s it would take to beat us.

We went on a 30-0 run against the "team we just beat." And Illinois was actually a good team, not just a team that juiced their numbers by winning 102-46 against South Alabama.

They're here because they've won some tough games. But Clemson would have been equally a bye. Charleston and Grand Canyon aren't serious teams (relative to UConn. If UNC doesn't take a needless 3, we have a tough Final Four game. But other than UNC, every semi-real team has beaten Alabama. Their two semi-decent win were Auburn (lol) and Florida (lol) and both were very close at home. They lost the games against those teams away from home by almost 20. Kentucky blasted them. Tennessee blasted them. Arizona beat them by 13. Ohio State beat them by 11.

Andrew Hurley is going to see the floor again tomorrow, and before the final minute. And so that's a relative bye, in my book.

Will say one thing to look out for is Karaban on Grant Nelson. Bama doesn’t have size at guard but they do have multiple 6’11 guys who can shoot it seems. They might have the most size at forward and center that we’ve faced this year who are also skilled.
